About
I taught reading before I taught astrology.
I spent seven years teaching elementary students to read and two more coaching teachers on how reading is taught. I’m a certified LETRS National Trainer, the program that trains educators in the science of reading, and I hold a master’s in special education with New York State certification in childhood and special education.
Astrology came in sideways. I taught myself through books and by tracking transits against my own chart until the patterns repeated loudly enough to read. Somewhere along the way I noticed I was learning it the same way I’d taught kids to read: one piece at a time, practiced until it came without effort, always tied back to a real story.
So I built the course I wished I’d had. Chart Literacy is that course.

Chart Literacy
What it is.
Chart Literacy teaches you to read your own birth chart. It’s pattern mapping astrology: behavioral strategy and timing, read by the person who has lived it. You learn the language on your own chart, so every lesson is about you from the first week.
The idea.
Decoding is a skill you already have.
decoding (n.): using what you know about how a written code works to read something you’ve never seen before.
Decoding a book
You learn the letters and the sounds they stand for. Then you blend sounds into words, and words into sentences.
Decoding a chart
You learn the signs, the planets, and the houses, and what each one does. Then you blend them into a sentence about your life, and sentences into a reading.
Course 1 teaches the code. Courses 2 to 4 teach you to read your story fluently.
The method.
How the language gets learned.
Chart Literacy is built the way strong readers are made: one piece at a time, in an order that makes sense, practiced until it comes without effort, and always pointed back at your own story.
The code comes first.
Each sign, planet, and house is taught clearly and directly, on its own, before you’re asked to put them together.
Practice makes it automatic.
Short games and drills build recall and speed, so reading your chart stops feeling like looking things up.
Then it’s yours.
Every skill moves straight from the lesson into your own chart. What you learn is about you from the first week.
Listen before you speak.
Each Thursday you hear the sky read a step above where you are, so the language is familiar before you use it yourself.
The Chart Literacy Model is adapted from the research on how fluent readers are made, where decoding and meaning are woven together until they work as one.
Where it comes from
A reading rope for your chart.
In reading research, Hollis Scarborough’s Reading Rope shows fluent reading as strands twisted together: recognizing words on one side, understanding language on the other. Chart Literacy adapts that rope for the chart. The signs, planets, and houses are the code you learn to recognize. Your lived experience, the timing, and the themes are the meaning. Twisted together, they become a reading only you can give.
